Beauty tips : Tips and tricks for hairstyles that hold all night

Whether you have short, shoulder-length or long hair, here are our top picks when it comes to products, hairstyles and accessories. Follow our tips and tricks for a hairstyle that holds long after the clock strikes twelve.

Short hair

Short hair is trendy, but still requires as much TLC as long hair. To tame stray strands, use a gel or wax that'll allow you to sculpt your hair and give it that sought-after shine. If you want to add some volume, opt for a styling mousse and top it off with a finishing spray. For even more volume and shine, apply the spray first and follow up with a bit of pomade. To tame wild strands or to jazz up your style, use accessories like metallic pins or clips that match your hair colour.

Shoulder-length hair

Whether your hair is layered, bobbed, straight or wavy, shoulder-length hair is the perfect length for a ponytail at the nape of your neck held together with a large velour ribbon. For a different look, tuck your hair behind your ears and add a bejewelled headband. No matter what style you opt for, remember to use a dab of styling wax to help tame your hair and give it some shine and finish off with a spritz of hairspray.

Long hair

For impeccable hair that lasts all day, opt for a messy bun held in place with hairpins, a banana bun (chignon twist) embellished with a large clip, or a classic bun held in place with a medium-size hair donut (or large if you have really thick hair). If you decide to let your hair down, make sure to sweep some strands up and away from your face to avoid having them constantly fall in your eyes. And remember, regardless if you choose to wear your hair up or down, always finish your look off with a bit of hairspray.

Tips for hairstyles that stick:

  • No time to wash your hair or make it to the hair salon before the big party? No worries! A quick spritz of dry shampoo will give your hair an added boost of volume and shine.
  • If your hair is dry or suffers from static electricity, just apply a few drops of serum to your strands or spray on Luc Vincent's antistatic for hair.

  • For quick touch-ups, always carry a small bottle of hairspray in your handbag. When applying, hold the bottle approximately 20 cm away from your head.

When it comes to hairstyles, the natural look is in, but that doesn't mean you can't go all out once in a while! Have fun trying out different accessories, ponytails, buns and braids—and find the style and products that suit you best!
